Praising the King - Aaron Young

Aaron Young graduated from Mayflower in 2008. He has served as a Music Director for college and youth ministry for over 7 years.

He shares his experiences at Mayflower saying, "Mayflower is what I needed as I grew up. I had great teachers who not only could help me one on one with subjects that were hard, but they were role models and people in my life that knew me and cared for me. Growing up is confusing, but having positive influences helped me take the next step. Mayflower was a wonderful experience and gave me a community I didn’t know I needed. I still look back and am thankful for the things I learned and the awesome opportunities I had."

Aaron has a passion to serve Christ through his gifting in music. He can play several instruments including the piano, guitar, bass, saxophone, accordion, and the ukulele. He has lead worship for many ministries and churches throughout the midwest, and is also part of a worship band called A Lesser Creative. Aaron uses worship music as a guide to point to, and walk through principles of Scripture.

Music lyrics can serve as a reminder of how we should strive to live our lives, pointing our attention upward to Christ. When feeling discouraged, worship music can speak to you where you're at and help you trust God with whatever is going on. Worship music is a great way to spend time in relationship with God.

Aaron's favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Aaron is currently studying at Midwestern Baptist Bible College focusing on Business Leadership.
